YAMAHA XGworks is a Windows-based MIDI sequencer and music production environment centered on Yamaha’s XG sound architecture. It enables you to compose, arrange, and edit music with piano-roll, score, and event-list views; manage multitrack MIDI projects; and adjust XG voice parameters, effects, and mixer settings directly inside your session. The software includes tools for quantizing, transposing, controller editing, and patch management, plus librarians for XG-compatible tone generators. XGworks also provides basic audio recording and waveform editing so you can blend MIDI with audio tracks. With support for Standard MIDI Files and plugin modules tailored to Yamaha hardware, it’s well suited for programming tracks for XG-capable synthesizers, sound cards, and tone modules, as well as revisiting legacy projects that rely on the XG format.

YAMAHA XGworks is developed by YAMAHA Corporation and is used by 5 users of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 3.0 and 4.0. The name of the program executable file is XGworks.exe.

Drumkit has the grand piano sound, the steel guitar is a grand piano, everything is a grand piano. Am I missing something?

xgworkerfailure, That is XG-proprietrarism-related. In the native XG50 waveset there are many special FX sounds, which are only available in the Y-XG50 original table, are XG driver related (also spatial- and other effects only available therein on 32Bit XG driver if working or created on the Y-XG50 vsti plugin with native yamaha tables) and nowhere else. Therefor this is not reproduced correctly when using re-installed thirdparty MIDI interfacing (Bassmidi, Virtualsynth) on x64 (32bit XG drivers not working there, native proprietary Y-XG softsynth drivers for x64 are in fact non-existent) machines with downloaded universal or reworked wavetables (of which are many around of course). The XGworks application itself essentially works, but the special XG sound FX effects are off, different instruments. Not in place. (it would require an entirely customized wavetable).
